Cloud is back with “Nobody’s Dreaming,” a synth rock single that starts off deceptively calm before it takes the whole room over.
Layers Creep In
Give it thirty seconds and you’ll feel the shift. Layers creep in under the surface, the mood turns humid, and by the time the chorus lands you’re somewhere you didn’t expect to be. It’s got the lift of an anthem without reaching for one, the ache of something personal without ever naming it outright. Cloud has always worked this territory, but here he sounds like he’s stopped second guessing himself.
Rise On Spotify
He’s past 160,000 plays on Spotify, with the bulk of that, about 80%, coming out of the US, no small feat for someone running independent out of Japan and still muscling into one of the most crowded markets going. “Overdrive” carries 120,000 of those plays by itself. Two songs have made it to mainstream radio, more than 100 Western outlets have written him up, and his studio credits include work alongside fellow musicians Luis and Alex.
It all reads like groundwork now. “Nobody’s Dreaming” is the payoff, and it’s out now.

My first ever record was by The Beatles, picked up secondhand from a charity shop near my house. I was twelve when I found it, and I still have it sitting on my shelf today. That one purchase is the reason I fell in love with music in the first place.
